Fire Safety Awareness, May 2023

Fire Safety For All – A Public Safety Awareness Event was conducted on 13th May 2023 in coordination with Devnagar Mahila Samuha, and with support from Atulya Foundation.

Two trainers from Shree Juddha Barun Yantra Office, Damkal/Pulchwok were invited for the community safety awareness event. Mr. Raj Kumar Thakuri and Mr. Gobinda Paudel of Juddha Barun Yantra office of Lalitpur were the two trainers who presented in details about causes of domestic fire. The cases of electric short-circuits, cooking gas-cylinder cases and other fire cases were discussed in detail. The trainers also shared about the preventive measures like use of standard regulator provisioned regulators in cooking gas-cylinders, use of fire extinguishers and use of good quality (yellow colour) connecting pipes that connects gas cylinder with the gas stove. The duo also conducted a demonstration session showing the methods of putting off the leaked gas pipes, gas cylinder under fire, and also the method of use of fire extinguisher cylinder with practical demonstration and practise by the locals. Three Rotarians from RC Mount Everest Lalitpur, spouse Sajil Shova Shakya, and 4 Rotaractors from the Rotaract Club of KEC Mount Everest also participated and supported in the event. At the last session, PP Rtn. Badan Lal Nyachhyon, and Rtn. Timila Yami handed over certificates of appreciation and token of appreciation to the trainers, and also to the supporting partner – Atulya Foundation. The event was well participated by over 60 members of the local women’s group and other people of the locality. The participants thanked RCMEL for organizing the event, and appreciated on the relevant safety awareness event.
