Tree Plantation Phase II at Fasku Community Forest

25th July 2021

On 24 July 2021, Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur organized Phase II of the Tree Plantation Program at Fasku Community Forest located in Nagarjun Municipality, Ward Number 6. The plantation program is a part of supporting Rotary International’s focus area, Protecting the Environment, and District 3292’s goal of planting 500 trees by each club.

During the event, 230 trees, including fruit trees and flowers, were planted by the participants, which includes Rotarians, their families and friends, and cyclists. We planted fruit trees too because they are an important source of food for birds and animals like monkeys. Due to being dependent on humans for food, birds and animals had a difficult time to find food during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

The plantation event was supported by Fasku Community Forest, Department of Forests and Soil Conservation, Ministry of Forests and Environment, Ace the Himalaya, PANC Bike, Trek Nepal and Shredders. And the event T-shirts were sponsored by U Kalika Suppliers.
